About
Bio/Description

Emilee earned her M.S. in Biological Engineering from Utah State University. She began her research as an undergraduate, designing hagfish protein-based membranes to mimic the properties of Bruch's membrane in the subretina. She continued as a graduate researcher in the lab of Dr. Elizabeth Vargis, where she developed hydrogel-like hagfish protein threads as an in vitro model of myocardial tissue. Outside of the lab, Emilee enjoys trying new video games, working on her latest crochet project, and spoiling her cats.
