Ismayn earned his B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Reed College, where he studied ABC-transporters contributing to bacterial virulence in Dr. Shivani Ahuja’s lab. He then worked as a Research Assistant in Dr. Steve Mansoor’s lab at the Oregon Health and Science University, characterizing the structure and function of P2X receptors. Outside of the lab, Ismayn enjoys baking desserts and playing video games.
